How We Started

Atty. Marie Christine Duran-Schulze, or Atty. March, as we often call her, caught the entrepreneurial bug from her husband Dr. Eric Schulze, an American radiologist, who opened a back-office support for his teleradiology practice in the Philippines around 2008. In three years, the venture proved successful, culminating in its acquisition by a publicly traded company in the United States.

Banking on this success, her friends would request Atty. March for assistance on their business ventures in the Philippines. Equipped with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor, her adeptness at navigating the technical and legal facets of business formation quickly became evident. Her reputation in the field was established largely through referrals and word of mouth.

Recognizing inefficiencies in government document filings as a business opportunity, she co-founded FilePino, Inc. in 2012 with a colleague specializing in SEO. Despite the favorable combination of corporate legal acumen and digital technology flair, the startup encountered significant challenges, particularly in persuading foreign nationals to invest in the Philippines. By 2016, Atty. March had acquired her business partner’s share and assumed full control of the company. During this period, she undertook extensive outreach efforts to elucidate the business formation and registration processes in the Philippines.

FilePino was established at the time when the BPO industry was in its nascent stages in the country. Over the years, as the outsourcing sector grew and the proficiency and skills of Filipino professionals became increasingly recognized, the business started to pick up.

For over a decade, FilePino has withstood the test of time, even amidst the global challenges posed by the pandemic. With its sister companies and brands, it continues to serve its clientele, embodying the claim that — Philippine business starts here, with FilePino.
